We are saddened to hear of the passing of Leonard Riggio. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Leonard Riggio, the founder and former chairman of Barnes & Noble, Inc., on August 27, 2024, at the age of 83. Mr. Riggio’s vision and entrepreneurial spirit transformed the retail landscape, establishing Barnes & Noble as the largest bookstore chain in the U.S. In addition to Barnes & Noble, he also founded Barnes & Noble College, MBS Textbook Exchange, and GameStop. His leadership spanned decades, during which he not only grew the company, but also nurtured a culture of innovation and a love for reading. Mr. Riggio was also a public servant and tireless advocate for public education, literacy and the arts, supporting organizations such as the Children's Defense Fund, the Anti-Defamation League and DIA:Beacon. We honor his remarkable contributions and extend our deepest condolences to his family. Mr. Riggio will be greatly missed by all who knew him. #LeonardRiggio

Campus stores can implement a daily buyback service this term to offer students the convenience of selling their used textbooks at a time that suits them, rather than being restricted to a specific day at the end of the term. This service can be a strategic addition to the store's operations, enhancing its value to the student community. https://hubs.ly/Q02LLHBB0
