We authored the first commercially available diagnostic computer programs to analyze building energy consumption. Other innovations included variable air volume system designs in the late 1960's, engine driven water source heat pumps with engine heat recovery, internal combustion engine cogeneration systems, one-pipe campus type chilled water systems and variable flow chilled water systems. The firm has a strong belief that energy conservation is an ethic that should permeate all aspects of mechanical and electrical system designs. On September 6th, McClure Engineering provided a few of our employees with the opportunity to attend the TEDx St. Louis Women Amplify event at UMSL’s Touhill Performing Arts Center. This event focused on celebrating and empowering women and their achievements, featuring remarkable talks from various sectors in the workplace. Our team listened to Bronwyn Morgan discuss “Navigating Life and Business in the Sky” as an FAA Part 107 certified sUAS Drone Pilot, Laura Sawyier speak about “The Power of Style,” Hanz Dismer address “A Matter of Survival: Relationship Violence in a Post-Roe World,” Yvonne Foo explain “Returnships, Return-to-Work Programs, are the Bridge Between Talent and Opportunity,” and April Foster present “Unlocking Justice: Transforming Lives by Empowering Women.” Additionally, there were three dynamic musical performances by Molly Sallaberry, Rhoda Mapenzi, and Hannah Joyner, who are participants in the 2024 St. Louis Teen Talent Competition. Today State Technical College of Missouri celebrated the completion of Safety Village with a Ribbon Cutting and Block Party for students, employees, legislatures, employers and community members. Safety Village is a training facility to educate and train future and current utility employees on safe excavation practices and underground utility locating. The one of a kind village is designed to simulate a residential neighborhood with underground utilities, including: Electric, Communications, Water, Wastewater, Natural gas distribution, and Pipeline transmission.
