👏Congratulations, MilliporeSigma! Today, MCEDC joined our partners from across the county and the state of Maryland for a ribbon cutting ceremony on MilliporeSigma's new Rockville biosafety testing facility. The 250,000 square-foot location represents the largest investment in contract testing in the company's history. Maryland's Montgomery County is the anchor of the third largest biotech hub in the U.S., which CEO of Life Sciences Matthias Heinzel and Head of Life Science Services Benjamin Hein highlighted as key to the project's success in addition to the support of both the county and the state of Maryland. MilliporeSigma anticipates that this expansion will create 300 positions over the next few years.
