Last week at MCG Health's Customer Success Team's annual retreat, our Clinical Education team announced the first recipient of the D’Arcy Mercer "Just Have Fun With It" Award: Senior Clinical Educator, Ashley Semrau. This award, established by the MCG Clinical Education Team, celebrates our late team member, D’Arcy Mercer, and his vibrant spirit and continuing legacy. Each year, our team plans to honor a member of our Clinical Education department who embodies D’Arcy’s incredible characteristics: honesty, humbleness, authenticity, carefree kindness, and the ability to "not take oneself too seriously." A committee of MCG employees, including Tami Wantola, Shelby Duke, and Lynn Herberholz, who were close friends with D’Arcy, helped select the recipient from the many nominations. In addition to the award, MCG is proud to donate to a memorial garden created in D'Arcy's honor. We also plan to display a plaque at the MCG Seattle headquarters, highlighting each year’s recipients and ensuring that D’Arcy’s legacy continues to inspire us all. Let's continue to embody D’Arcy’s philosophy and "just have fun with it" in everything we do! 🙂

MCG VP of Government Markets, Donna Baker-Miller, and our HL7 Da Vinci Project Community Champion & #interoperability expert, Daniel Cawood, recently visited Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., to share valuable insights on prior auth #automation advancements. This type of industry input is well-timed for Congress as they consider the passage of the "Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act," bipartisan legislation that would streamline prior authorization requirements for #MedicareAdvantage plans.

Juan Abreu, BSN, MBA, JD, an MCG Health Clinical Educator, recently taught his first onsite "new MCG client" training session for the Mennonite Hospital System (six hospitals) in Puerto Rico. This was also his first time teaching MCG in Spanish (well, maybe a little in Spanglish due to the medical terminology and some "MCG lingo"). You can see Juan and his first group of students pictured below. Congratulations Juan, and thank you for supporting our clients' success!
