MCSSSD week recap of so many great events from the whole district!

Mercer Elementary School kicked off Fall Fun Week with music/dancing, bubbles, a pumpkin scavenger hunt and a pumpkin patch!

During Physical Science class, the students learned about physical change through a pumpkin carving activity. They helped scoop out and then feel the pulp and seeds, and they then helped create a jack-o'-lantern. Great job!

MHS Pink Out! Our staff and students had a "pink out" walk around MHS to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Thanks to Ms. Michele for the wonderful pumpkins! Ms. Beth joined us to carve pumpkins during her OT room. We worked on team building, sharing materials, and tolerating pumpkins on our hands. We had a great time getting into the Halloween Season!

Hopewell Valley's STEM program at Timberlane Middle School and Mercer Elementary School partnered to participate in the "Hallowheels" contest held through Children's Assistive Technology Service (C.A.T.S. - an organization that provides no-cost assistive technology devices to children with impaired mobility and communication). The STEM students from Timberlane Middle School designed, created and constructed tailored costumes that incorporated the MES student's likes, preferences, and assistive devices. A huge thank you to Helen Corveleyn (STEM Teacher), Dr. Barbara McCarty (Media Specialist), Karen Demeter (MES Teacher), Joan Alito (Retired MES Teacher), Tammy Lascar (MES Principal), and all of our MES staff! A special thank you to Mercer County Executive Dan Benson for attending! Everyone who had a hand in this put a smile on our students and we are forever grateful for the memories created!

JFC had a great day at Allaire Farm!

On Saturday our MHS Dolphin and Panda team competed in the NJ Special Olympics at Mercer County Park! The Dolphins won the Gold medal and the Pandas took home the Bronze medal with a big win in their second game! LET'S GO MCSSSD!
