While the American Medical Association and the WHO categorize obesity as a disease, a precise definition of how it should be diagnosed is still up for debate. With a nod toward a new report from #TheLancet coming this fall that aims to create a more accurate definition, MedShadow Foundation is seeking two diverse opinions on this topic to be featured side by side on our website. If you are a medical professional, or an individual living with obesity, and align closely with either of these opinions, please DM! 1) "Obesity is a disease, therefore we must prioritize medications to treat this condition just like we would any other disease" 2) "The 'obesity is a disease' argument is not as cut and dry as some would have us believe, which is why lifestyle interventions should be championed before medication" #interview #doctor #medicalprofessional #interview #health
