MTMC Cares: August Children and Youth Causes Michelle Carfore/Team Florida A big shoutout goes to Michelle Carfore/Team Florida for her donation to the Phelan Lucky campaign! This effort raises funds and brings awareness to Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, which is a rare genetic disorder that can affect many critical functions. Michelle shared, "I chose this cause on behalf of a dear childhood friend of mine whose son has recently been diagnosed. She has been a rockstar Mom who shows up every day while battling breast cancer. She is an inspiration to me and a daily reminder to be grateful and to stay strong." #mtmc #medtechmedcare #givingback #givingbackmatters

MTMC Cares: August  Children and Youth Causes  Jordan Brown/Team PNW To kick off August's MTMC Cares initiative, Jordan Brown/Team PNW shared that he's been coaching youth sports for the past 15 years, and his passion for teaching and working with kids through competitive baseball is second to none. This past season, Jordan coached the Narrows 11U travel team and just wrapped up this season going 35-15! They competed in four 12U tournaments around the NW and won 3 tournaments this year.  The Narrows Baseball Club is a select baseball program for players aged 10-18, and is one of the oldest select baseball programs in Washington. The Club was established to develop members into competitive, high school and post-high school baseball players. Jordan mentioned, "the season overall was a great success, as their ultimate goal is player development. I'm looking forward to next season!!" #mtmc #mtmccares #medtechmedcare #givingback #givingbackmatters

MTMC Cares: July Animal Rescues Michael Figueroa/Team SoCal and Bailey Cobbs/Team SouthEast To complete our first month of MTMC Cares, we have two final submissions to present! Michael Figueroa/Team SoCal shared, "earlier this year, my wife and I adopted our pup, Paloma, from Helen Woodward Animal Shelter in San Diego. Paloma is a Shepadoodle, part Poodle and part German Shepherd." According to the shelter, she was rescued from a larger shelter where euthanasia rates are high. "Today Paloma is 7 months old, she loves to chew on toys, go for long walks, and recently discovered swimming. It was a great decision to adopt her, as she brings so much joy to our lives and always gives a warm welcome after a day spent in the field." Our second story comes from Bailey Cobbs/Team SouthEast and his wife, Bonnie, who volunteered to walk and play with Charlie, the newest pet to join his younger sister's family! He also mentioned his visits with foster dogs who live with his daughter, and how she "seemed to develop a wonderful relationship with each of these various breeds." This sweet surprised look comes from one of her foster dogs, Nacho, who happily accepted Bailey and his wife's quality time and energy after a short “getting acquainted” period.
