  • 🚨 Meet our newest fire inspector! 🚨 From Swansea, IL, Chris Tell brings over 30 years of fire service experience to MFPD! Starting as a Volunteer Firefighter in 1993, he worked his way up to Fire Chief before retiring in August 2024. What does he love most about his job? Reviewing building projects and ensuring safety codes are met to protect our community! 👷 Outside of work, Chris is a proud father of 5, a soccer enthusiast, and continues to volunteer as a part-time firefighter. He's also a certified Peer Supporter and instructor with the Illinois Fire Service Institute! He also has two rescue dogs, Abbie and Nala, who are the best companions! 🐾

  • Teamwork in action! 🚒💪 Our crews recently participated in an intense auto extrication simulation, thanks to McNamara Towing and Mehlville School District. The scenario? A bus overturned on a vehicle, with mannequins acting as victims inside. Our team worked together to rescue the 'victims' and ensure each other's safety throughout the exercise. Training like this prepares us to respond to real-life emergencies, keeping our community safe.
