President and CEO at Mental Health America

With one week until Election Day, it’s important that we all take the necessary time we need to care for ourselves and those around us. Here’s a note I shared with Mental Health America staff members as we approach this moment: Dear Team, As we enter the final stretch of the 2024 election season, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the significance of this time for each of us. Elections bring with them a wide range of emotions, perspectives, and experiences. I take heart in knowing that we are all navigating this together. No matter what the outcomes may be, I believe in our collective strength and resilience. I am continually inspired by the spirit of mutuality and kindness in our staff community— qualities I know we will rely on during this season. We are up to whatever challenges lie ahead. And we have one another to lean on for company, encouragement, and support. As you engage with the election in your own way, I want to remind you to prioritize your well-being. Please stay safe, both physically and mentally. Take the time you need to care for yourselves and those around you. Our wellness—individually and as a community—is our greatest asset. Thank you for being the incredible team you are, and for the kindness and strength you bring to this mission every day. Take good care of yourselves and each other. Warmly, Schroeder #ElectionDay #2024Election #MentalHealth
