About us
The mission of Mentor Tutor Connection is to help build brighter futures for youth in Mountain View and Los Altos through exceptional tutoring and mentoring programs that improve social and academic life skills. We want all students in our community to be able to maximize their potential through access to a tutor or mentor. We recruit, train and place volunteers to tutor at local elementary and middle schools or be mentors at the high school level, to help our students achieve their potential and thrive!

We’re #hiring: MTC Seeks New Mentor Program Manager!

Calling all potential new tutors! We will be hosting a New Tutor Training on Thursday, August 29th from 12-1:30pm at the Los Altos Community Center. All tutors must attend at least 1 New Tutor Training session to become certified-- this is a great opportunity to understand what to expect as a tutor and meet other potential tutors as well! Last Friday was "take your child to the library day"! Coincidentally, MTC Board members and staff spent Saturday recruiting volunteers at the Friends of the Library book sale in Los Altos. We were happy to speak to many potential volunteers and had lots of interest from people who want to hear more about our volunteer opportunities. It was also really fun to see so many moms, dads, and grandparents taking their kids to the library and purchasing books at the book sale. Interested in volunteering?
