Happy #EarthDay! 🌏 Making strides toward protecting our earth requires that we measure our impact effectively, and Mercari has been working with the Japanese government’s Ministry of the Environment to design and implement standardized metrics for CO2 emissions avoided through various positive behaviors. Mercari has done extensive work in collaboration with research institutes to calculate greenhouse gas emissions avoided through our business activities, and we hope that leveraging this work on a national scale will contribute further toward the realization of a decarbonized society. Mercari's paid internship programs aim to train the next generation of talent in the tech industry. Interns work with our full-time members to develop actual features for our products, gaining real-world experience and an understanding of our engineering culture. Applications are now open for the Mercari Bold Program for Women: 2025 Global Edition! This program is designed for women with plans to graduate from university or graduate school between July 2026 and March 2029, and aims to empower the next generation of women leaders in the tech industry.  Participants will travel to one of five countries (US, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Korea) to take part in an ideathon, and present their results to Mercari CEO Shintaro Yamada.
