Let's build a more sustainable world together by ending the exploitation of animals for food.
About us
Mercy For Animals believes that a humane society is possible. We are committed to reducing the greatest amount of suffering for the largest number of animals. Our efforts focus on protecting farmed animals—the most abused and exploited animals on the planet—and utilize a broad range of strategic approaches that seek to expose cruelty, prosecute abusers, and inspire consumers to make compassionate food choices. We are on the frontlines fighting to protect farmed animals. From factory farms to corporate boardrooms, courts of justice to courts of public opinion, MFA is there to speak up against cruelty, and for compassion.

Many companies have promised to stop sourcing birds bred to suffer, but a breaking report exposes those failing to follow through. The industry’s focus on increasing growth rates and the amount of breast meat has resulted in horrible suffering, with many chickens dying before even reaching slaughter age. Check out the Frankenchickens Report below to find out which food companies are keeping or breaking their promises and how YOU can help chickens. https://lnkd.in/g46jHDiF

Despite being deemed healthy prior to departure, 80 sheep recently dropped dead during a flight from Australia to Indonesia. The incident is currently under investigation by Australia's Department of Agriculture. Every year, the global demand for meat and other animal products subjects millions of cows, sheep, and other animals to unimaginable suffering via live export. Also known as “live animal exports” and “live transport,” this practice involves transporting thousands of animals at once across long distances, often overseas and to countries with less stringent animal welfare laws. Learn more about the live export industry and what you can do to help by clicking the link below! #LiveExport #MercyForAnimals #LiveExportTrade #Sheep #Vegan #PlantBased https://lnkd.in/gs__8z7U

Mercy For Animals invites third-year law students and recent law graduates to apply for sponsorship for an externally funded fellowship! Mercy For Animals seeks to host a global-policy legal fellow who will gain experience advocating for farmed animals and a just, sustainable food system at intergovernmental organizations, such as those within the United Nations system. This fellowship will build skills in legal research, writing, and analysis, as well as international policy advocacy. You will develop an understanding of international policy processes, such as those of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, United Nations Environment Programme, and World Organisation for Animal Health. Additionally, you will have opportunities to grow your network of advocates in this space and think creatively about novel strategies that leverage international law and policy to achieve advocacy objectives. These male pigs are confined in a semen collection facility. Filth and suffering is all they know. Around the world each day, between 3.4 and 6.5 billion animals are killed for food, totaling an estimated 1.2 trillion animals a year. It's time to recognize that our food choices matter. This World Farmed Animals Day, help us treat all living beings with equality, respect, and compassion by choosing plant-based foods. #WorldFarmedAnimals #WorldFarmedAnimalsDay #WorldDayForFarmedAnimals
