About us
Mercy Housing is working to create a more humane world where poverty is alleviated, communities are healthy and all people can develop their full potential. We believe that affordable housing and supportive programs improve the economic status of residents, transform neighborhoods and stabilize lives. We provide affordable, program-enriched housing to a variety of people across the country, including low-income families, seniors and people with special needs. We acquire and renovate housing, as well as develop new properties. The majority of our homes are rental, but we also offer some homeownership opportunities in various communities.

We had an incredible time at the 2nd Annual Wellness Fair hosted for residents of #MercyHousingLakefront communities Colony Park and Marian Park! Through a generous grant from the DuPage Foundation, the event was a perfect chance to spotlight our amazing partners and the specialized programming they offer while enjoying a day full of smiles, dancing, and fun activities for residents of all ages😎 Residents heard informative presentations from NAMI, Association for Individual Development, 988 Crisis Services, Northern Illinois Food Bank, and many more community partners who provide valuable resources, including the Police Department, Senior Services, and Veterans Affairs. Thank you to everyone who made this event so special and your continued partnership in building a healthier, happier community together🙏

Thank you Equal Learning Fund for your partnership in helping students get prepared for another successful year of learning and growing😀
This year, over 800 students—every child living in a Mercy Housing building in Southern California under the age of 18—received backpacks and school supplies, thanks to our generous donors. Seeing the joy on their faces as they chose their backpacks and prepared for the school year was genuinely heartwarming. A big thanks to Kristen Hammer and Natalie Estrella for coordinating efforts to make this happen 👏 #backtoschool #giving

It was a beautiful start to the day as I joined fellow supportive housing and human service providers in DuPage County to receive grants that will enable us to continue our work to ensure that all residents of DuPage County have access to stable housing, healthy food and critical services. Thank you to the DuPage County Board and the DuPage Foundation, including County Board Chair Deborah Conroy and Foundation CEO Michael Sitrick, JD, CFRE, for your leadership in creating and sustaining the DuPage Community Transformation Partnership that funded these grants. Exciting news from #MercyHousingMountainPlains community Decatur Place in #Denver! We just unveiled a brand-new playground, and it’s all thanks to the incredible teamwork and dedication of our partners and volunteers. Earlier this year, both the young and the young at heart at Decatur Place shared their ideas for the perfect play space, and KABOOM! turned those dreams into a reality. A special thank you to KABOOM!, CarMax, Huntington National Bank, and HD Supply for your support and time on this special project. We couldn’t have done it without you!

🌟 The #SpiritOfMercy Award continues to spotlight incredible individuals who embody @mercyhousing's core values of respect, justice, and mercy, along with our REDI initiatives. This week, we celebrate another exceptional team member: Katia Licea! Katia joined Mercy Housing in April 2023 as the Senior Property Manager at St. Clare and made an immediate impact. St. Clare faced many challenges during the lease-up process, and Katia "didn't let this get her team down and rose to the challenge," explains Teather Barnard. Despite the challenges, Katia forged ahead of meeting with future residents and worked closely with her team to meet last-minute deadlines while managing to lease up and welcome 80 residents' home within three weeks. Resident Christina Quinones adds, "She makes time to help me with personal problems and always understands. I will say that Katia is the best manager I have ever had." Help us honor this Spirit of Mercy Awardee by leaving her a thumbs up in the comments! #SpiritOfMercy #Leadership #Partnership #MercyHousing #MakingADifference
