Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published the October update for the 2024-2025 Respiratory Disease Season Outlook (https://lnkd.in/eR7XQxuX). They predict a similar number of hospitalizations in comparison to last year but are preparing for various scenarios. Currently, respiratory virus activity remains low nationwide, with declining COVID-19 cases and low flu and RSV activity. Meridian’s paired antibodies for Flu A, Flu B, SARS-CoV-2, and RSV are designed for rapid lateral flow assays and are ideal for multiplex tests to distinguish flu, COVID-19, and RSV. Join us for our webinar on “Increasing Access to Point-of-Care Diagnostics Through Innovative Advances in Molecular Reagents for Assay Development”, taking place November 20th @ 3pm London time! Point-of-care (POC) assays are gaining significant traction in diagnostic testing; however, these tests face challenges related to accessibility, stability, and ease of workflow. Due to infrastructure limitations, especially in remote areas, there is often a lack of necessary resources for appropriately storing reagents, and complex workflows are frequently difficult to implement in non-laboratory settings. Join our webinar to learn about: • Innovative molecular reagents that simplify assay workflow using direct detection • Benefits to eliminating cold-chain through ambient temperature assay stability • Advances in qPCR and isothermal technologies tailored for point-of-care use Register here: https://lnkd.in/d_pypxUW Lina Gasiūnaitė Steve Hawkins #webinar #pointofcaretesting #isothermalamplificiation #moleculardiagnostics

IgM detection assays are valuable diagnostic tools in identifying primary infections, however, IgM antibodies only comprise 5-10% of the total antibody population in circulation. In order to accurately measure IgM, it is necessary to reduce assay interference caused by more prevalent IgG antibodies. Meridian manufactures thousands of liters per year of purified goat anti-human IgG Fc fragment (GAH IgG Fc, Cat# L15406G), and ready-to-use IgM Assay Diluent (Cat# 8120). These are IgG absorbents designed to remove human IgG and IgG/rheumatoid factor (RF) complexes from serum prior to IgM testing by CLIA, ELISA, LF, nephelometry or turbidometry. They are not cross-reactive with human IgM, IgA, or other non-immunoglobin serum proteins. Click here to order a sample today:https://lnkd.in/gMQZZbGG #Assaydevelopment #immunoassay #diagnostics

The evolving landscape of the point-of-care testing (POCT) market is being driven by: (1) technological advancements (2) increasing demand for faster results (3) the need for more efficient and patient-centered healthcare solutions Meridian’s Specimen-specific™ LAMP master mixes and BST enzymes are ideal for high-sensitivity LAMP assays. They are inhibitor-tolerant and can amplify DNA directly from crude samples such as blood, urine, saliva and stool, or from extracted DNA. In addition, the mixes can be lyophilized or air-dried to create room-temperature stable assays, which is essential for reducing cold chain management of POCTs.
