Home to the flagship Thompson Hotel, The National features 218 luxurious rooms, 324 Class A multifamily units, 37,000 square feet of office space, and 43,000 square feet of retail space. Our design draws inspiration from the elegance of a well-tailored suit, showcasing a refined neutral color palette with masculine tones and striking angular lines. The National pays homage to its historical roots while providing all the modern comforts that today’s guests and residents desire. We had the pleasure of working on The Statler Dallas, Curio Collection by Hilton. An example of mid-century modern architecture, The Statler has long been a landmark in downtown Dallas since its grand opening in 1956. After an extensive renovation, this architectural gem evolved into a vibrant hub featuring a 159-room Curio Collection hotel and 219 luxurious rental apartments. With a stunning 14,000-square-foot ballroom, 25,000-square-foot meeting spaces, and six diverse food and beverage venues, The Statler reclaimed its status as a premier destination for both locals and visitors alike. We also can’t forget its breathtaking views from The Statler’s two rooftop pool decks and the meticulously designed interior garage. The Statler proudly stands as a focal point of Main Street Garden Park in Downtown Dallas, revitalizing the area and enhancing the urban experience. We are proud to have been a part of this journey, preserving the legacy of a beloved landmark while infusing it with modern elegance. While we all have a love of architecture here at MAA, it’s our strong sense of family and a deep connection to our community that unites us. We are fortunate to have a team that loves what they do and enjoys spending time together.

MAA had the pleasure of working on a four-phase renovation project of The Woodlands® Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton located 30 miles north of downtown Houston in Montgomery County. This property represents the first Hilton Curio Resort in Texas, and the $21-million re-imagination of the popular resort includes public areas - registration, lobby lounge and bar, restaurant and market, pre-function area - as well as 402 total guest rooms and suites. MAA was responsible for the interior design of The Woodlands Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton’s renovations. We also curated an exemplary new art program for the hotel which showcases a variety of talented Texas artists in a mix of genres and techniques. Our team determined the primary design driver was the surrounding forested environment - flora, fauna, water, air, and light. Inspiration was the peace, joy and rejuvenation that occurs when guests immerse themselves into the vast property. By incorporating materials, textures and colors that appear throughout the woodland, our design team was able to create a natural transition from the outdoors into the interiors of the resort. It has been great to see our design come to life.
