🌍 Research has linked the rising wildfire risks in the Western US to human-induced climate change, primarily due to increased greenhouse gas emissions.  🔥 This warming effect has intensified the vapor pressure deficit (VPD), a measure of the atmosphere's drying power, with human activities responsible for about two-thirds of this increase. The elevated VPD results in drier, more flammable vegetation, leading to more frequent and intense wildfires. 🌫️ Wildfire smoke significantly, releasing harmful pollutants such as fine particulate matter (generally <300 nm and carbon-based), and elevated levels of formaldehyde and ozone, impacts indoor air quality.
