IT Services and IT Consulting

The fast transformation of the metals industry is critical for our fight against climate change.

About us

Within major steel enterprises, daily operations are hampered by complicated procedures and complex IT structures. This outdated approach leads to losing valuable expertise and adds unnecessary complexity, making it difficult to adapt to changing market dynamics. Additionally, the maze of IT systems further complicates matters, impeding efficient decision-making and hindering the seamless flow of critical information. Coupled with stringent regulatory requirements, this complexity becomes overwhelming, putting undue strain on the organisation's ability to remain agile and competitive. Addressing these challenges requires industry leaders to embrace modernisation efforts that focus on agility, integration, and compliance. A viable solution is to partner with industry-specific experts from metalsXP. By harnessing our specialized knowledge and tailored solutions, steel manufacturers can streamline opera- tions, improve decision-making processes, and ensure long-term sustainability in today's ever changing environments. Most importantly, MetalsXP enables fast transformation to promote a positive climate outlook. Beginning 2024, we assembled a dream team of accomplished entrepreneurs, software architects and top-tier business consultants who collectivly worked over 1250 years in the mining and metals industry. Over these years, we have developed and invested in solutions for the entire metals value chain from specification to certification. And we are applying this unparalleled expertise and talent to work in the second most relevant commodity industry of our time, in the belief that the transformation we implement will benefit generations to come.

"I know why I go to work every day.” - Niko Korte Keep an eye on what is currently happening in the Nordics: Last week, Niko Korte (VP, Head of Fossil Free Business Platforms) presented SSAB's journey to fossil-free steel to a wider audience at the SAP for Process Industries and Natural Resources conference. SSAB is on its way to fossil-free steel production, and with the #Aurora program it is leading one of the largest industrial and digital transformation programs in the Nordics, fundamentally changing Nordic steel production. Living sustainability in the long term means harmonizing all three pillars of sustainability: Economy, Environment and Social Impact. With a brave attitude, bold decisions, a clear understanding of the growing demand for fossil-free steel and the steel industry's responsibility for 7% of global CO2 emissions per year, the goal is no longer just to reduce CO2 emissions, but to remove them. The first milestone will be reached in 2026 with the conversion of the electric arc furnace (EAF) in Oxelösund, which will reduce Sweden's CO2 emissions by 3%. This will be followed by a fossil-free mini-mill in Luleå, Sweden, which will allow SSAB to shut down the existing blast furnace-based production system and further reduce Sweden's CO2 emissions by 7%. Similar projects will follow, including another mini-mill in Finland, which is expected to reduce Finland's emissions by 7%. As the Aurora team, we see ourselves as ONE-Team made up of different partners. At metalsXP, we fully recognize the opportunity and also the responsibility we have to make a meaningful impact with our work. We are proud and humbled to be part of the Aurora team and to contribute our expertise, solutions and services to this great transformation. Let the journey begin!   #Aurora #SSAB #mXP #SAP #NaturalResources #FossilFreeSteel #ProcessIndustries #IndustrialTransformation #GreenSteel

We started the “SAP for Process Industries and Natural Resources Conference” with our clients and partners! 🌟 Our Conference Kick-Off Event was an evening of meaningful discussions about the transition of the materials industry and how DMP and metalsXP, together with SAP solutions, can support industry players in managing this complex transition. And this was all with a unique view over the rooftops of Vienna—the event took place in one of the biggest and oldest steel constructions in the city, the Vienna Giant Wheel! Thanks to everyone who attended.
