A few years ago when I was a young EP, I was told by my boss that due to the way I present myself, I’d “never meet someone like David Droga”. It was because of an innocent photo I had posted of myself in a bikini on my personal instagram account while on vacation with my family. If you know me, you know I WILL prove someone wrong if given the chance. My boss prior to that told me I’d never be a producer. A supervisor I had before that told me I would never have my own company. A few weeks ago, I decided to shoot my shot, I emailed David directly, telling him my story and asked if he would be able to carve out even a sliver of his busy schedule to meet me. The email subject: “it’s always worth a shot…” He answered me within an hour. …FFW to today: I had a lovely meeting with none other than David Droga himself. At his office. And got the best bit of advice, “stay optimistic in this business”. Here’s the view from the Accenture offices😍 the perfect day, truly. The first year of business is grueling but exciting filled with highs and lows alike. As I round out the 10th month of Little Bird and enter into our final months of the year, I’m incredibly grateful (and tired lol), and excited for what’s to come.

There are so many lessons marketers can learn from the DUDE Wipes success story. A true David v. Goliath. From $0 to now a $200MM dollar brand, and the 7th most successful Shark Tank ABC business. Disruption at its finest. Here are a 3 lessons Ryan Meegan shared at Association of National Advertisers Masters of Marketing. 1.) Smaller marketing budgets can have great impact when combined with hustle and a strong brand POV. If you want to disrupt you can’t afford to be dull. 2.) Why building brand is just as important as performance marketing. Maybe more. If you want people to change their behavior they have to love your brand. 3.) How great insights are found daily if you just listen. The “Re-learn to wipe campaign” was born from a comment from a kindergarten teacher on TikTok.
