Our vast knowledge of Osceola County infrastructure, gained from over a decade of maintenance and technology support, aided in awarding the ITS Installation, Maintenance, and Support Task Work Order-based agreement with the City of Kissimmee. The City of Kissimmee was seeking to expand its Closed-Circuit Television Camera (CCTV) coverage throughout the area. To avoid overlapping devices, we were able to provide the City with a cost-saving solution by providing access to the existing ITS CCTV cameras versus exhausting City funds. With this approach, the City expressed its gratitude for support and requested Metric to further assist by identifying coverage issues. Under the five task work orders issued to date, we continue to provide the City with exceptional and expeditious services in having several ITS CCTV cameras installed within a week's timeframe. The City has expressed its contentment and continues to implore Metric to provide additional installation services. #ProjectSpotlight #TSM&O

Did You Know? In 2022, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) introduced the nation’s first Lane Closure Notification System to keep drivers informed about active work zones. Overall, the benefits of the LCNS include: - Reduction in work zone crashes, fatalities, and serious injuries - Improved worker safety - More construction lane closures identified and tracked in real-time - Automatically share real-time lane closure information with travelers via third-party navigation application systems and automated driving systems - Improved travel time reliability and reduced congestion by informing road users about lane closures This initiative is part of FDOT’s ongoing commitment to supporting road workers who play a crucial role in maintaining our state’s transportation infrastructure. Safety is a constant priority that involves everyone’s participation. Let’s all contribute to improving work zone safety and avoiding accidents! #LaneClosure #DidYouKnow
