Yesterday we celebrated Hector, our wonderful Equity Advisor, who was honored with the Ohtli Award presented to him by the Mexican Consulate. The Ohtli Award, derived from the Nahuatl word meaning “path,” is the highest recognition awarded by the Mexican Government to members of the community in the United States who have contributed in an exceptional manner to the development of the Mexican community living abroad. In addition to serving as Equity Advisor here at Metro West, Hector is a well-respected community and business leader in Washington County. Hector was a co-founder of Centro Cultural, the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center, and Salud de la Familia, and as a lifelong advocate for social justice, Hector is a recognized and respected voice for the Latino community.
