Today we remember Brecken Markee, a 2.5 year old lover of family, books, MickeyMouse, teddy bears. Brecken who would infect you with happiness the second you'd see his smile, there wasn't a room he entered that wasn't captivated with his obvious love for life. Brecken was born on January 19th, 2021 with many complex congenital heart defects (CHD) and a condition called heterotaxy syndrome. Heterotaxy syndrome, is a rare condition where many organs are formed abnormally, in the wrong position, or are even missing. Many children with heterotaxy syndrome have complex congenital heart defects (CHD), which often make the condition challenging to treat. From the depths of their grief, his family has found gratitude and will continue to fight for all the kids battling CHD by creating their 501(c)(3) non-profit Organization, Brecken's Blessings. The Markee Family's mission with their non-profit is to turn grief into gratitude.
