We were proud to join Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III, at the Western Hemisphere Nearshoring event, hosted by Miami Dade College, designed to foster dialogue on key issues impacting economic development and trade relations between Miami and Latin America. This event featured prominent speakers from the public, private, and academic sectors, including U.S. Congressman Carlos A. Gimenez, Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III, Miami International Airport Marketing Director Emir Pineda, and representatives from PortMiami and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce (GMCC). Kirk Laughlin from Nearshore Americas served as moderator. Amid the rising trend of nearshoring in the Americas, the panels covered topics such as enhancing trade ties between the U.S., Miami, and Latin America; expanding supply chain opportunities; positioning Miami as a strategic hub; recognizing Latin America's role as a vital partner for Miami; and exploring international collaboration to secure technical and financial support for projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Western Hemisphere Nearshoring event was coordinated by Miami-Dade County International Trade Consortium in collaboration with #iflymia, #PortMiami, Nearshore Americas, #GMCC, #TTTNetworkingInc, #Xtrategy US LLC, #KatoenNatie, and HSBC.
