The partners in the project have contributed their unique propitiatory technologies and knowledge to create unrivalled cutting-edge packaged solution. MICCS resulted in the development of an advanced in-situ and real-time method of investigating and characterizing pollution. Innovative thinking lead to an integrated solution involving a sensor-fitted probe, which is driven through the soil matrix with Sonic drilling speed while performing contamination measurements. An advanced ground radar technology is used to acquire more data during preliminary tests. The resulting information can be used to create a overall picture of the contaminated site. The use of MICCS technology can be used to produce highly accurate images of contamination distribution. The information is gathered faster and more effectively, which lowers costs and directly contributes to a more effective and quick cleanup effort.
