The MicroLED Industry Association, in collaboration with Techblick, concluded a highly successful microLED industry event last week. MicroLED-Connect 2024, which took place in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, brought together over 200 industry professionals, supply chain companies, researchers, investors and early stage developers. During the event, over 40 speakers, including microLED professionals from Google, Meta, Osram, Coherent, Continental, VueReal, GlobalFoundries, and others, discusses the latest innovations, roadmaps, challenges and applications of microLEDs. The event also included 8 masterlcasses, industry tours in nearby companies and research centers, and many networking opportunities. A vibrant exhibition showcases various microLED production processes, prototype displays, and the latest materials and innovations. On the first day, the MicroLED Industry Association hosted its members for a special dinner. All of the lectures and masterclasses were recorded, and our hybrid and virtual pass holders have access to all of the recordings from the event - in addition to many previously recorded virtual events we held before.  We look forward to MicroLED-Connect 2025! #microled MicroLED Connect

Real world data for using excimer laser based LIFT mass transfer technology to transfer and place microLEDs? Here Oliver Haupt explains why LIFT is a practical and cost-effective industrial solution for mass transfer, both for current LED die sizes (about 20 µm x 20 µm) and moving forward towards smaller (10 µm x 10 µm) dies. In this study Coherent Corp. - the Gold Sponsors for MicroLED Connect 2024 - shares real measured data showing the placement accuracy of LIFT with 5 µm x 5 µm x 3 µm (thickness) microLEDs as a function of gap distance (distance from the temporary carrier holding the microLEDs to the target substrate). It is shown that 979 of the microLEDs, with a 50 µm gap and die-to-die pitch of 90 µm. 99.7% (3σ) of the microLEDs were placed within 0.66 µm (x) and 0.56 µm of their of their target location.  You will also learn that submicron placement accuracy is maintained at gap distances of up to 80 µm #MicroLED #Die #GaN #MassTransfer #Laser #LIFT #Excimer #MicroLEDConnect #ARVRConnet
