Recently, our President, Mr. YK Lai, 黎耀家. MHRM was invited by Kakitangan.com to speak on the topic of "Termination of Employment" and engage with a group of 60 HR practitioners, many of whom worked in the SME sector. The event took place at the WORQ Co-Working Space. During the session, he delved into various aspects of the termination of employment and shed light on important issues concerning HR practitioners, particularly those from the SME segment. 1. Importance of understanding the legal framework: One of the key points he emphasized was the criticality of HR practitioners having a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework surrounding termination of employment in their respective countries. Many SMEs may not have in-house legal counsel, making it essential for HR professionals to be aware of the relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance. 2. Documentation and record-keeping: He emphasized the significance of accurate and comprehensive documentation during the termination process. HR practitioners need to maintain proper records of performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and all relevant communication to support their decisions and protect the interests of both the organization and the employee. Overall, the session provided a platform for HR practitioners to gain valuable insights into navigating termination of employment in the SME segment, enabling them to make informed decisions and cultivate a more positive and supportive work environment. #TerminationOfEmployment #Kakitangan #PayrollSoftware #Termination

Malaysia’s economy expanded slightly slower than expected in the fourth quarter of 2023 (4Q2023) as resilient household spending and investment activities cushioned subdued exports. Gross domestic product (GDP) grew 3% year-on-year (y-o-y) in October-December 2023 when compared to the same period in 2022, Bank Negara Malaysia announced on Friday. The reading is a tad lower than both Bloomberg and Reuters surveys of economists which predicted a median 3.4% y-o-y rise. https://lnkd.in/gGHAGGyh
