Who doesn't like a great burrito! 🌯 Jeff joined the Council in March 2022. He has recently been named as a advisor for the MACSC Executive Board. It's a notable achievement, and his exceptional acumen will certainly be instrumental in driving the board's initiatives. His appointment underscores his leadership skills and the value he brings to the organization. We hope you enjoy our October issue. #Leadership #ExecutiveBoard #Safety #Protection #Construction

We are proud to announce that the Mid-Atlantic Construction Safety Council (MACSC) has officially signed an alliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) as part of the OSHA Alliance Program. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for MACSC and underscores our continued commitment to promoting workplace safety across the region. The OSHA Alliance Program provides a platform for organizations to work with OSHA to prevent workplace hazards, develop safety programs, and promote compliance with OSHA standards. Through this partnership, MACSC will collaborate with OSHA to share valuable resources, engage in joint training initiatives, and foster an environment where best safety practices are at the forefront of construction operations. For our members, this alliance offers access to enhanced safety training, up-to-date regulatory information, and increased opportunities for networking with industry leaders and safety experts. By joining forces with OSHA, we aim to set new benchmarks in safety culture and performance, ensuring safer job sites across the region. Together with OSHA, MACSC is poised to make a lasting impact, helping to protect workers and reduce workplace incidents. We look forward to the positive changes this alliance will bring to the construction community in Philadelphia and beyond. #Safety #Construction #OSHA #Partnerships General Building Contractors Association (GBCA)

Congratulations Shawn! Well deserved.
Almost caught up from the SAIA-Scaffold and Access Industry Association annual convention in Denver. Convention is an awesome opportunity to network with the most brilliant people in the access-at-heights field. I am so fortunate to be able to attend and participate in the committee and council work that goes on year round to keep Standards, Codes of Safe Practice and Competent Person courses up to date. This work keeps me knowledgeable, current and sharp. At 62 years old and after nearly 45 years in the business I have an incessant need to pass on everything I know to the next generations of “scaffolders” and as an instructor and the Chair of the SAIA’ University Accredited Training Institute Committee I get to do just that. I get tremendous satisfaction knowing that my work keeps people safe and I do what I do because for some strange reason I’ve always loved this business. All that being said, at the SAIA gala this week I was presented with the Victor Saleeby Award for “15 years of outstanding and exceptional service to the Association.” I am humbled to have been selected as the recipient and truly feel that I am the small fish in the big pond of industry giants that have received the eagle before me. Thanks to all of you who thought me worthy and to Superior Scaffold Services for allowing me to participate in this outstanding organization.
