Back to School! Exciting to see organizations like LET’S GO making such a powerful impact in #STEMeducation and #YouthEmpowerment! The Science Café is a great example of how we can bridge the education and workforce gap in STEM fields and inspire the next generation of innovators and leaders. Our recent funding supports LET'S GO's expansion in Baltimore City, enabling them to equip a new, larger facility with essential office and classroom furniture, cutting-edge STEM equipment, and a cargo van for efficient resource distribution. Kudos to the team at LET’S GO Boys and Girls for their dedication to making a difference! #STEM #EducationForAll #Innovation #CommunityImpact #YouthLeadership #BaltimoreCity
NurturingChampions: STEM and Olympic Parallels This week, I visited our closing summer session for LETS GO's Teen Science Café program in our Baltimore City region. As I watched our students immerse themselves in STEM, it struck me how their journey mirrors Olympic athletes' paths. Just as Olympians dedicate hours to sharpening their skills, our students spent the past five weeks preparing for this moment. Their commitment and dedication have been inspiring. They pushed themselves, embracing challenges with the same determination and perseverance seen in athletes aiming for medals. Yes, I made that analogy. That's how proud I am of them. Their job was to plan the closing event, and they were laser-focused on ensuring they thoughtfully and expertly addressed every detail. It was impressive. In both arenas-whether STEM or sports -- the road to success requires discipline, dedicated work, and a robust support system. We designed our program to equip these young students with the tools, mentorship, and opportunities they need to excel. While some results may take time, the long-term impact is the emergence of future winners in their respective fields. And I can't wait to see that. STEM and sports share a belief: Relentless effort, unwavering commitment, and passion for excellence make Champions. Our goal is to foster leaders who inspire and create lasting change. Here’s to the next generation of champions -- whether in the lab, the classroom, or the field! #STEMEducation #YouthEmpowerment #LetsGo #TeenScienceCafe #ChampionMindset #FutureLeaders
Highlighting three recent grantees who are making a significant impact in our region by improving access to healthy meals for underserved populations. **Moveable Feast** delivers medically-tailored meals to Maryland residents living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-threatening illnesses. They are expanding their refrigeration system to be able to increase the number of meals they can provide, from 9,200 to 10,800 meals a day. St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore’s **Good Harvest Community Kitchen**, is fighting food insecurity by partnering with community-based agencies to deliver over 5,000 nutritious meals daily to low-income children, adults, and seniors. They are purchasing vehicles (instead of entering into costly new long-term leases), in order to reduce costs and strengthen their program financially and operationally. **Maryland Food Bank’s** extensive network of soup kitchens, pantries, and schools distributes food to some of the most food-insecure regions in Maryland. As they scale operations, they're advancing their technology infrastructure to strengthen partnerships, automate routine tasks, and expand their reach even further. These organizations are fulfilling a critical need in our communities, and we’re honored to support their efforts. #BaltimoreNonProfits #HealthyFoodAccess #CommunityImpact #FoodInsecurity

Spotlighting two recent grantees this summer, both doing exciting community work in Cherry Hill, South Baltimore. ***48% of Cherry Hill households lack a personal vehicle, according to the Baltimore Neighborhood Indicators Alliance (for nearby Baltimore Peninsula, Riverside and Federal Hill, that number is 3%.)*** Both organizations requested assistance with transportation. The RICH – Restoring Inner City Hope- program emerged from a vision to restore hope and empower youth and families in Cherry Hill through after-school and summer leadership programming. Michael & Danielle Battle offer experiences such as social-emotional learning, self-development, and mental health awareness to community outreach events and youth workforce development. Cherry Hill Eagles is a community resource center dedicated to improving the economic mobility of families and support the education and mentoring of community youth to help reduce chronic absenteeism. They also offer peer to per counseling, family advocacy, food share programs, academic support, sports programming, and in addition, assist the elderly with transportation to and from the grocery store and healthcare appointments. #RestoringHope #CommmunityOutreach #BaltimoreCityYouthEducation #CherryHillBaltimore https://lnkd.in/e7cbKwKm https://lnkd.in/eDvHDzcP
