Today our local Memphis office participated in the Forvis Mazars US IMPACT Days volunteer event with MIFA (Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association). MIFA is a non-profit organization that serves vulnerable seniors and families throughout the city of Memphis and Shelby County by providing them with daily meals. As a group, we helped build food boxes that will be delivered to those residents. We are extremely grateful for this opportunity to serve those in our local Memphis community! #IMPACTDays #WeAreForvisMazars

MIFA’s seed was planted more than 50 years ago and sprouted from the idea that more good could grow in our community. We continue to thrive and provide for our neighbors today thanks to the people who tend MIFA’s garden year after year. In this year’s No-Go Gala, we celebrate other neighbors who connect their community through growth and cultivation. They are farmers, gardeners, beekeepers, and chefs. But they are also advocates, leaders, teachers, and neighbors. You’re invited NOT to attend MIFA’s No-Go Gala. From private offices to hosting events, it's a hub for innovation and collaboration. Caring for Seniors: Mayor Young's participation in the MIFA (Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association) March for Meals, distributing lunches to senior residents of Orange Mound, and enjoying a heartwarming performance by the Orange Mound Community Center choir. Inspiring Future Leaders: Mayor Young's insightful talk at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he shared experiences from his time on the Downtown Memphis Commission and emphasized the importance of public health initiatives in shaping decision-making and retaining young talent in Memphis. Community Enhancements: Celebrating progress with the ribbon cutting for the Memphis Parks Pinehill Golf Course Clubhouse, symbolizing continued investment in our city's recreational spaces. Engaging Neighborhoods: The latest stop on the One Memphis tour at Ed Rice Community Center, facilitating a productive town hall discussion with Frayser residents to address community needs and aspirations. Unity Against Crime: Mayor Young hosted the Black Mayor's Coalition on Crime at Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis, where black leaders from across the country came together to share solutions and support in tackling issues affecting the minority-majority cities. Together, these endeavors exemplify our commitment to empowerment, community enrichment, and collaborative problem-solving. On April 4th the MMDC team volunteered delivering meals on wheels with fellow Medical District nonprofit, MIFA (Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association), to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Thank you, MIFA, for the the opportunity to make an impact.
