Michigan has made significant strides in sharing physical health information, yet there remain important opportunities to enhance behavioral health data sharing. Federal and state laws impose additional protections on certain types of health information, known as specially protected information (SPI). This includes data from 42 CFR Part 2 facilities, which manage sensitive substance use disorder information, underscoring the importance of navigating these regulations effectively to support integrated, holistic care. Join MiHIN today for the next installment of the Download as we recognize Substance Use Prevention Month and underscore the critical role that electronic consent management (eCMS) plays in furthering better care for patients, especially those in substance use disorder (SUD) programs. Join MiHIN on Monday, September 30 for the next iteration of the Download as we explore how our collaborative pilot project is bridging the gap between pre-hospital care and hospitals. Despite being an integral part of the health care delivery system, many of America's largest hospital systems, and the fire and ambulance services that care for the communities around them, operate in information silos. This lack of interoperability can lead to delays and inefficiencies in patient care. Discover how this innovative pilot project is improving patient outcomes and enhancing overall healthcare efficiency. To learn more or register ⬇ https://lnkd.in/g8gbm7Gs
