Harvey Gulf International Marine boasts a fleet of 52 ocean supply vessels (OSVs), all in striking blue livery. One of them—the Harvey Discovery—has been the catalyst of a change that could save the #marine #shipping company millions. That's because the 265-foot platform vessel was the first of the Harvey Gulf fleet to receive Carbomastic 15 as its hull primer. That was in 2011. Since then? • Harvey Discovery has dry docked at least five times • Minor touch-ups to the hull occurred only once • The hull has not received a full blast in 12 years A full blast and recoat is a six-figure cost a shipper ordinarily can expect to pay twice in a 12-year period.
