We’re thrilled to join our ReadyCT G.R.I.T. Interns today for their final presentations! 🎉 After 5 weeks of hard work, they’re ready to shine with their Cybersecurity project using Raspberry Pi technology. They visited us on Monday at the Renaissance Penthouse to preview their presentation, and we can’t wait to see the final result. The premise of their game is about an intern under the restraint of a morally dubious boss. Students use the functions of the Raspberry Pi to solve puzzles and get codes to escape, learning about coding and Cybersecurity in the process. This project is instrumental in helping us further develop our Cybersecurity course. Huge shoutout to R.D. Our team returned from the Virginia Technology and Engineering Education Association (VTEEA) conference where, together with the partners from Milestone C, we conducted workshops on the topics of AI and Robotics, showcasing our work and innovations. 🎉 We ran one cycle of workshop sessions and one cycle of “deep dive” sessions. The workshops were structured so that four groups of teachers (each with around 30 participants) rotated, with each session lasting 35 minutes. The focus was on practical activities to help teachers familiarize themselves with topics such as Robotics, AI, and Drones. The deep dive sessions included a 60-minute presentation on these topics with practical examples and activities. The teachers were highly engaged, asking many questions, discussing, and seeking solutions. We learned an interesting fact about many middle school teachers we've met - they had transitioned from other careers to become science teachers, bringing diverse experiences to their roles. 👍🏼❤ The sessions were very industry-oriented, aimed at preparing students for state of Virginia dominant industries.
