This project is more than just an educational program; it is a passion-driven movement committed to ensuring quality education for all. Born out of the need to address educational inequalities, EmpowerEd offers free, personalized tutoring to children and young people in Peru who cannot afford private tutoring. This initiative empowers college students to share their knowledge and inspire change, providing the support needed for academic success and personal growth. Through partnerships with top universities, including the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, EmpowerEd enlists top-performing university students as volunteer tutors. These dedicated tutors help students identify their strengths and weaknesses, developing customized learning plans that improve academic performance and boost confidence and self-esteem. Ariana Pantoja emphasizes the project's core value: “Remember the power of collaboration. "That's when I learned firsthand the power of organizing people to drive change and drive social impact—the power of ordinary people to do truly extraordinary things." 💫 Kate Cummings shared her journey and insights with the #MillenniumFellowship Class of 2023. As a Research Fellow at the Burnes Center for Social Change and the Governance Lab, Kate leads InnovateUS, an initiative focused on innovation skills training for public sector employees, and supports civic leaders in gaining access to equitable public engagement insights. Starting her career as an organizer for Barack Obama and later leading Hilary Clinton’s 275-person team in Virginia in 2016, Kate has since applied those experiences to mission-driven technology companies.
