About us
1 in every 4 people. That's who experiences a mental health crisis or illness during any given year, yet less than half receive treatment. Life in beautiful western Colorado can be challenging, with high rates of suicide and substance abuse. Mind Springs Health offers resilience and recovery throughout Colorado's Western Slope, providing mental health and/or substance abuse treatment and therapy to all ages. With a large and experienced team of psychiatrists, licensed therapists, clinicians and other mental health professionals, Mind Springs Health treats all types and severities of mental disorders, including depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, trauma, schizophrenia, bipolar, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and more. Last year a record 15,980 people were treated. Treatment does work. Outpatient offices: Aspen, Craig, Eagle, Frisco, Glenwood Springs, Granby, Grand Junction, Meeker, Rangely, Rifle, Steamboat Springs, Vail and Walden. Our therapists are also available in many of western slope schools and primary care offices. And, Mind Springs Health's TeleHealth network allows patients & psychiatrists to meet over a secure video connection regardless of where both are located. For psychiatric hospitalization, West Springs Hospital is the only psychiatric hospital between Denver and Salt Lake City, and the need for it grows. Because there are not enough psychiatric hospital beds in Colorado, West Springs Hospital, located in Grand Junction, serves the entire state as well as surrounding areas of Utah and Wyoming with its 32 beds. Children, adolescent, adult & senior services are available in the hospital. For those in crisis, there is a 24/7 toll-free hotline 1-888-207-4004, where one can speak to a live therapist immediately.

September marks Suicide Prevention Month – a time to remember the lives lost to suicide, acknowledge the millions more who have experienced suicidal thoughts, and the many individuals, families and communities that have been impacted by suicide. It’s also a time to raise awareness about suicide prevention and share messages of hope. It is a time to embrace the message: “No Judgment. Just Help.” Read more on the newest SAMHSA blog: https://lnkd.in/g7MsuVyB

Just like it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a community to care. We can all make a difference in someone's life by learning how to support those considering suicide. Together, we can create a stronger, more compassionate community. samhsa.gov/suicide #SPM24

Mind Springs is proud to have Sheriff Todd Rowell serve on the Board of Directors at our organization.
Grand Junction City Council - District A, Real Estate Investor/Property Manager, Community Advocate, Retired Police Detective, Aspiring Peach Farmer
This article is an excellent example of why I’m a big fan of Sheriff Todd Rowell. Balancing public safety with compassion is an important and challenging job, but one he does well (as does GJPD Chief Smith!). I applaud the work being done to clean up the riverfront encampments. I’ve seen many of these firsthand and can attest to their dangerous nature and their extreme impact on our rivers and riparian areas due to trash and human waste. I’m committed to working toward the elimination of these camps, with the understanding that a viable alternative must exist. Sheriff Rowell says in his article, “Compassion, collaboration and proactive intervention are the most effective ways to help individuals get back on their feet and create a safer, healthier community.” I agree. West Springs Hospital plays a vital role in ensuring access to behavioral health and mental wellness services on the Western Slope of Colorado. Constructed in 2019, this world-class facility is the sole psychiatric hospital with a 24/7 psychiatric emergency department between Denver and Salt Lake City—a drive of over four hours in either direction. Situated in Grand Junction, Mesa County, on Mind Springs’ main campus, West Springs offers early intervention care for individuals. Psychiatric facilities like West Springs Hospital fill gaps in the care system and serve as crucial support anchors in the community, providing assessment, treatment, and stabilization for those experiencing mental health crises. #protecteacheal
