I want to extend heartfelt congratulations to two of our staff members who participated in our job skills and development program for adults. They dedicated eight weeks to learning career-specific skills in partnership with Twin Cities Rise while balancing work with us to learn on the job training and sustain their income. Yesterday, they successfully graduated, and we couldn't be prouder to be part of their transformative journey. Together, we are making a positive impact on our community! 🎓🌟 #CommunityImpact #JobSkillsDevelopment #LifeTransformation

I had a fantastic time at the MAD DADS presidents national meeting over the weekend. Celebrating 35 years of impactful work was truly inspiring. One of our presenters, a former member of MAD DADS New York in the 90s, credited us as the founding fathers of the CVI work, a title we didn't formally use back then. It was humbling to hear that we inspired him so much that he now runs a successful business training organizations in CVI. Understanding our history is truly a blessing. Remember, knowing where you come from is key to shaping where you're headed.

Happy 35th birthday MAD DADS National! On this day May 29th 1989 (which was Memorial Day) was the inception of MAD DADS! Founded in Omaha Nebraska in 1989 these are words from our founding fathers at our inception! We started out of pain - the pain of our children dying in the streets of our own communities. We were - and still are - tired of looking into the eyes of hollow youth who lacked hope, and who had ceased to dream. We realized that we could hold no one responsible for this but ourselves. We allowed this to happen. So we united as a handful of community fathers who now know that WE MUST BE THE FORCE BEHIND THE CHANGE. Bishop Robert Tyler (deceased), John Foster (deceased), and Eddie Staton (deceased), Omaha Nebraska, May 1989 Founders of MAD DADS.
Check us out on Kare 11 news noon day as we talk about our vision for a MAD DADS Empowerment Center in the heart of South Minneapolis on Lake Street! The center will serve as a resource hub and community violence intervention and prevention center, focusing on core community issues that have plagued us for so long. We aim to support victims of sex trafficking, workforce development, individuals impacted by injustices, community leadership, and more. Growing up on Lake Street, this project holds immense personal significance for me. Being part of a campaign to bring empowerment and change to my community is truly fulfilling. We are at the initial stages of this initiative. If you are interested in joining this project, please reach out - let's talk! Community- We are looking for a therapist for our staff team at MAD DADS Minneapolis. As you all know we serve the community daily by providing resources, placing ourselves in high intense and possibly dangerous situations. Also working with people who have suffered from years of trauma and abuse. While some of our team members have overcomers of the same things the community we serve is going through it’s essential for them to have a space to process life and the things that can come about on and off the job. If you know someone or are that person please inbox me with your information. We will be reaching out. Thank you & blessings!
