This work will include providing educational leadership, program development, training, consultation, and resources to support district leaders, school administrators, discipline teams, and student support staff and lead teachers to increase their use of restorative practices across Minnesota. This work will be focused on enhancing the capacity of schools to rigorously assess their current discipline system and help them to make changes in policies, systems, and practices that align with the school’s goals for discipline and student support as a key strategy for addressing racial disparities indiscipline. A priority is to build the capacity of schools in the design, selection and/or development of appropriate evidence-based social and emotional learning (SEL) policies, frameworks, instructional content, teaching methods, professional development, and assessment of schoolwide implementation as a key strategy for addressing student behavior and conditions for learning. -         Research, plan, develop, facilitate, and evaluate large-scale professional learning, professional networking opportunities, and implementation activities that are designed to develop, improve, and support district and charters and school staff to implement evidence based schoolwide SEL through increased access to quality networking and professional development opportunities.   -         Provide technical assistance and coaching that supports district and school leaders to build their knowledge and skills in implementing effective policies, frameworks and practices for supporting students with SEL. The EDI Center's mission is to advance the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion to create the conditions for building authentic cross-cultural communities where harm is eliminated, and every person's humanity is acknowledged and valued. In this position, you will serve as the agency lead responsible for developing and coordinating the administration of the DOJ Stop School Violence grant to statewide schools across Minnesota specifically supporting the Student, Teachers, and the School Resource Officer Program.
