We're excited to share the latest ✨ She Shines Spotlight ✨ from Minute Media Women & Allies ERG. Led by our ERG and People & Culture team, She Shines is a quarterly spotlight recognizing the extraordinary women within our company and celebrating their unique capabilities, leadership, and achievements. This quarter we're celebrating 90min Brazil's Head of Content, Maria Victoria Poli Cipeda. Since joining in 2022, Maria Victoria has led 90min Brazil to impressive growth, expanding the brand’s content and increasing visibility for women’s soccer. From covering the Women’s Copa America to the Women’s World Cup, her leadership and passion have made a global impact. ⚽ Congratulations, Mavi, on this well-deserved recognition! Learn more in the post below:
We are so happy to share our second She Shines honoree, Maria Victoria Poli Cipeda, Head of Content, Brazil - 90min. Her leadership and passion have inspired her team, while bringing the brand she stewards to new heights. These achievements have earned global recognition 💫 In March of 2022, when Maria Victoria (better known as “Mavi”) joined 90min Brazil as the head of content, she arrived with a pedigreed journalistic background, spending time at both UOL and ESPN. She also arrived with a mission: increase the full scope of the content offering and build a dedicated global team to execute her vision for growth. Additionally, she intended to add visibility for women’s soccer in Brazil, using the way American fans absorb and react to USWNT as an inspiration. Almost immediately, she was whisked off to the 90min Summit in Barcelona, which allowed her to forge the global relationships that have fueled her Minute Media journey and set her on a path to accomplish her goals. That summit set the tone for Mavi’s impressive ability to synthesize both editorial initiatives and commercial campaigns, raising 90min Brazil’s profile by leveraging global relationships. Her manager, Brian Goldfarb, noted that her content strategy has led directly to massive growth across the board, particularly on social media. "She's not just a big fan of football and a journalist/content creator with a lot of knowledge in the space,” he praised, “but she's been opening a lot of doors for us, crafting relationships with players and other creators.” Those open doors led to Mavi increasing 90min’s presence and reputation amongst brands and portals in Brazil in myriad ways. Under her watch, the team experienced massive social media growth and reputational improvements, with each member of the operation united around a common content goal, never forgetting their passion for the sport in the process. Mavi also spearheaded in-person coverage of the Women’s Copa America in 2022, the Women’s World Cup in 2023, and the Women’s Champions League in 2024, all firsts for 90min, and all shining examples of her fortitude in increasing the brand’s scope. While Brazil’s maturity towards women’s football remains “an ongoing process,” that represents a content challenge she’s proudly fighting to overcome, with plenty of 90min teammates ready to help. “I’m working to empower women's sports and give them the spotlight they deserve. Ever since I joined, I feel we've advanced so much in that,” Mavi beamed. Her dedication to her personal cause, keen eye for communication, and ability to bridge global divides (and learn from them) have made her a clear choice as a She Shines honoree.

Wishing The Players’ Tribune (TPT) a very happy 10th Anniversary! In October 2014, the sports media world was changed forever when MLB Hall of Famer and New York Yankees legend, Derek Jeter, co-founded The Players' Tribune, creating the blueprint for athlete-driven storytelling. Over the past decade, TPT has given athletes a platform to share their own stories, on their own time and in their own way, which in-turn has impacted the world far beyond sport. These stories have catalyzed incredible cultural impact from shaping national discourse and influencing cultural narratives to turning into books, leading plays, Oscar-winning short films, non-profit foundations and more. Join us as we celebrate a truly one-of-a-kind brand and look ahead to the next ten years! #TPT10

This morning, two of Minute Media's sports content brands - The Players’ Tribune and Sports Illustrated - worked together to break the news that top high school basketball recruits (and twin brothers), Cameron and Cayden Boozer, committed to Duke University. The Players' Tribune released the announcement in the form of a compelling video montage, showcasing the brand’s unique prowess in athlete-first storytelling and how they reach athletes in their most important moments. Doing what they do best, Sports Illustrated then took to social, releasing a premium digital cover of the star duo in Duke gear alongside an interview with the brothers went live on SI.com. Pairing the best in athlete-driven content (The Players' Tribune) and legendary sports journalism (Sports Illustrated), we look forward to seeing what these two iconic brands will continue to bring to the table as they power 'what's next' in sports content.
