As an organization dedicated to addressing health disparities within marginalized communities, we understand the impact that Community Health Workers (CHWs) have on addressing these disparities. With a focus on the Social Determinants of Health, we contract with CHWs to help share their impact stories. We also help organizations, both in community and clinical settings, understand the value of integrating CHWs and the CHW model into their work spaces.
Both the co-founders of Miskonception are Certified CHWs in the state of South Carolina. Tee Joseph and M. Greg Green have facilitated conversations with various organizations across the state and nation. Some engagements include South Carolina Dept of Mental Health, South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. (National Nursing Sorority), International Conference on Stigma (Howard University), South Carolina Library Association, US Dept of Justice, Federation of Families Summit, and Unity Conference (National Association of Community Health Workers).
