Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Michael Sharpe and Catherine Krimmer from the AUKUS Forum to our Rogers office at the World Trade Center Arkansas. The delegation provided an excellent opportunity to discuss Australian marketplace opportunities, fostering deeper connections and exploring potential collaborations. This week the AUKUS delegation have been walking the factory floors across Texas. Last year Texas trade with Australia totaled $4.2 billion, and Texas ranked third in exports to Australia among the U.S. states. In the last decade, Australian companies have invested in 61 projects in Texas that are expected to generate $2.5 billion in capital expenditures and create over 4,000 Texas jobs. Today the AUKUS delegation met with executives at Bell Flight and inspected the Bell Manufacturing Technology Center (MTC) in Fort Worth, Texas. The MTC is an innovative proving ground where Bell test and refine technologies and processes—demonstrating manufacturing readiness and ability to build and support Future Vertical Lift (FVL) aircraft. Bell Flight president and CEO Lisa Atherton says 2024 will be a “pivotal year” for the helicopter manufacturer — one that “is going to change the landscape of what we do in the decades to come.” AUKUS will be the largest industrial endeavor in Australia’s history and collaboration will be a key driver.
