Recently, Donna Brake, Manager of Apprenticeship and Work Based Learning at MDHEWD, served on a panel at the National Association for Workforce Boards. The session "Apprenticeships 2.0: Building Tomorrow's Talent Pipeline" focused on the transformative impact of Registered Apprenticeship (RA) Programs for talent retention and recruitment. The session highlighted workforce boards' crucial role in developing RA programs as long-term solutions. Attendees explored successful RA examples and gained strategies for implementation. Through dynamic panel and attendee discussions, they explored best practices, diverse funding streams, and productive partnerships, such as the collaboration with Manhattan Strategy Group's Supply Chain Automation Workforce. Attendees gained valuable insights, including RA program implementation, funding opportunities, and building future-ready talent pipelines.

The February 2025 Missouri Monthly Jobs Report is out! Missouri nonfarm payroll employment increased by 12,500 jobs in February 2025, and the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 3.7%. Scott Sloan from the Rolla Job Center was recently honored with the Employee of the Month award! Scott has worked very hard to enroll as many customers as possible in QUEST supportive services. His collaboration with the QUEST coordination team has led to the center achieving the second-highest enrollments in the state. Thanks to Scott's dedication, 19 customers are receiving QUEST supportive services that will aid them in completing their training and ultimately putting them on a path to success.
