Promoting social justice and improving legal services
About us
The Minnesota Justice Foundation (MJF) is a membership-run, nonprofit organization. Its mission is to promote social justice and to improve legal services to those who have been under-represented by the legal profession. Through MJF, students have the opportunity to work with lawyers in a variety of legal advice settings or to complete research projects for lawyers who have taken cases on a pro-bono basis. In addition, MJF sponsors several summer clerkships per year, in settings which provide legal services to indigent clients. Through these experiences, law students and lawyers will develop an awareness of their ethical obligation to undertake public interest legal representation in the future.

Attention law firms, businesses, and generous individuals - consider donating an item to the Mitchell Hamline Minnesota Justice Foundation Public Interest Law Fellowship Auction. All funds raised in the action go directly to the PILF program, which grants stipends to students who are spending their summer putting their legal education to work in public interest positions that would otherwise be unpaid. Fellowship recipients directly serve our local communities by working with non-profit organizations to provide free legal services to marginalized and low-income communities. For more info or to donate email: brooke.riley@mitchellhamline.edu.
