The MKB community is a guide for those ready to make a move.

About us

MKB is a community for those looking to make a move in life. MKB was formed out of passion for helping others achieve their loftiest goals and build a life that aligns with their values. We specialize in helping and empowering young professionals who have worked hard to establish a life for themselves but are stuck on how to level up, diversify their income, and dive into the world of entrepreneurship. We’ve learned through career success that your job doesn’t need to define who you are, but building a life around the things you value isn’t a walk in the park either. From getting out of debt to starting side hustles and stepping away from the 9-5 corporate life, we’ve learned that you can create the life you want with intentionality and a willingness to take massive action. Our journey was dramatically impacted by having access to a community that challenged our traditional thinking and coached us through the tough times. We believe these things can be the difference maker for those looking to make a move. We believe most people value family, faith, and peace of mind more than making money. We believe ownership of your time is one of life’s greatest pursuits. We believe you are capable of learning anything if you are willing to make it a priority. We believe change won’t happen until you are willing to get real with yourself. Looking to start a side hustle? Maximize your finances? Diversify your skills? Grow as a person? We got you. Life rewards those who act. So remember, wherever you’re at in life, it’s always your move.

How do Michael & Kelsey keep their heads on straight raising 2 little girls, running a couple businesses, and continue to prioritize their marriage after 12 years? Here's their biggest tip!

How often do you feel like a whole week has passed, yet you've accomplished very little and feel overwhelmed? Michael and I experienced this on a weekly basis about five years ago and decided to take action. Our game changer – family meetings. Every Sunday, we come together to discuss the most valuable aspects of our lives. Our family meetings include: 1. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫. A simple but powerful thing to do to strengthen our relationship.  2. 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩. We typically discuss takeaways from the relationship book we’re currently reading, something we appreciate about each other, and leave space for any crucial conversations that need to be had.  3. 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬. This was crucial for tackling our $120k of debt in 2.5 years and is still important to discuss often.  4. 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬. This is key for enhancing our focus on the right things and effectiveness with the work we’re putting in.  5. 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐩𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤. This ensures support where it’s needed and helps us keep balance as best as possible. These meetings may seem simple, but they have kept us grounded and enabled us to address challenging topics regularly. If you're single, consider adapting these practices for personal reflection and growth. #Family #Productivity #Relationships #Entrepreneurship

Michael & Kelsey had the opportunity to share with a couple thousand entrepreneurs last weekend about their journey. There's a reason Darren Hardy calls it the entrepreneur rollercoaster. Commitment is what has gotten them through... and a good amount of work.

Had a great time speaking at an entrepreneurial summit in Dallas last weekend with Michael. Our message was simple: commitment is key. In today's world, it's easy to give up when things get uncomfortable or boring with 1,000 things trying to steal our attention and energy. But those who commit to their goals and see them through are the ones who succeed. Commitment means following through, even when it's tough. Michael and I have faced challenges and days when we didn't feel like putting in the effort, but our commitment to our goals and desired lifestyle kept us going. We're not perfect, but we let commitment and responsibility dictate our actions at least 90% of the time. Are you letting your feelings control your decisions? Take a moment to reflect on the goals you set for yourself and see if there's something you can do to increase your commitment. Remember, success comes to those who stay committed. #entrepreneurship #commitment #goals #challengethenorm

3 years ago today, I stepped out of working professionally as a PA and into life as a full-time person, part-time entrepreneur. Having never taken a business class in my life I honestly never believed I could create success in the business world. Organic chemistry, physiology, pharmacology, you bet… but running a business not so much. Michael and I started our side ventures initially to help accelerate paying off the $120k of debt I piled on from grad school but after tackling that in 2.5 years we truly started to believe in ourselves. If you haven’t read the book Hidden Potential by Adam Grant I’d highly recommend it. We ALL have more potential than we’re letting ourselves go after. We often just need to surround ourselves with more encouragement and be willing to put in more work. We committed to hustling in our 20s to create the life and choice we wanted in our 30s and boy am I grateful. Over the last 3 years, we’ve welcomed our 2 little girls into the world, traveled more than we ever had before, built a new home, and grew our impact through giving and mentoring with MKB Development Group. Really looking forward to what the next 3 years have in store. It’s never too late to change your habits, association, financial mindset, etc and really set yourself up for the life you want. What changes are you focused on making this year, this month, and today? It's time to challenge the norm. #challengethenorm #entrepreneur #physicianassistant #healthcare #sidehustle
