This year, MMANC launched UpNext, a groundbreaking initiative designed to empower emerging leaders through small, intimate cohorts. With up to 20 professionals per group, participants engage in curated personal and professional development, individual coaching, and peer support as they prepare for the next steps in their careers. Jessica Lobedan, Human Services Director for the City of San Leandro, shares her experience: "I recently moved from management to my first executive role, and I wanted to continue my professional development and focus on honing my leadership skills. Having 'grown up' in MMANC from Analyst to Manager and now Director, I wanted to continue participating in this amazing organization while also shifting my learning to self-work." As the inaugural cohort wraps up their first transformative year, we look forward to welcoming the next group of leaders. Applications for the next cohort open in October.
