  • 🤖 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀: 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆    Last week, I highlighted the undeniable shift towards the utilization of AGVs and AMRs in assembly lines, underpinned by their unmatched flexibility and modularity. The conventional conveyor system is gracefully bowing out to make room for a fleet of agile mobile robots 🚀, as brilliantly captured in the video shared here. This evolutionary leap isn't limited to just automotive plants 🏭; its reach is rapidly extending across diverse sectors.    Navigating these projects presents a unique set of intricacies and hurdles 🧩. As a dedicated consultant, I consistently underscore a pivotal aspect to our clients - the non-negotiable requirement for robust AGV and AMR availability ⏱️. 𝗔𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, defined as the percentage of uptime the entire line sustains, hinges on two fundamental factors:     🔧 𝗠𝗧𝗕𝗙: Mean Time Between Failures  🔧 𝗠𝗧𝗧𝗥: Mean Time To Repair)    W𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁? It directly translates to the duration our production takes a pause. While striving for a 100% availability is the ultimate aspiration 🌟, it's essential to acknowledge the practicalities. My counsel, especially within the automotive domain 🚗, echoes the pursuit of a 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟵𝟵.𝟴% 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, encompassing seamless communication 📡.    Realistically, sourcing providers capable of delivering such elevated availability is a rare find 💎.    𝗡𝗼𝘄, 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁-𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Should this identical availability benchmark apply to logistics applications as well? My stance diverges here. In logistics, a brief 30-second pause for an AGV registers minimal repercussions 🔄, dwarfed by the impact of a corresponding pause on an assembly line ⚖️. The key distinction? On the assembly line canvas, one AGV's pause orchestrates an ensemble halt 🛑. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 💬. 𝗟𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 – 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄! 👇    The AGVs in the video have been developed, manufactured, and deployed by the Spanish company Kivnon 🇪🇸. Many thanks for the video Lorena Marin 🙌    #innovation #technology #robots  "These insights are from Javier Miguélez, Mobile Robotics Consultant and Co- Founder of The Mobile Robot Directory. 🌟 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟮/𝟯 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 🤖 In this video, I´ll talk about the two-thirds rule in mobile robotics projects. 🔍 W𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗼-𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲?  This rule suggests that 2/3 of the total project cost typically goes toward hardware—the AGV / AMR structure. The remaining 1/3 covers installation, software, and other related expenses. However, there are important exceptions: •       𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗚𝗩 / 𝗔𝗠𝗥 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀: when only one AGV or AMR is needed, the rule doesn't always apply. •       𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗚𝗩 / 𝗔𝗠𝗥s: projects requiring custom or specialized AGVs also tend to break this rule. 📽️ W𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 to learn more! ❓W𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲?
