At AutoSens Europe, Mobileye's Osnat Silko, REM Advanced Development Program Manager, and Gabriel Bowers, Image Path Architecture and Strategy, addressed crucial developments in visibility enhancement for ADAS and autonomous systems. Osnat gave an insightful presentation on Mobileye’s AV maps REM™, and Gabriel provided insights into the performance evaluation of image sensors in ADAS in a lively panel discussion.

When studying crash avoidance features, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety / Highway Loss Data Institute found that ADAS-equipped passenger vehicles experienced a significant decrease in police-reported crashes and insurance claims in 2023 compared to those without. Check out how ADAS is helping make roads safer for pedestrians and drivers (percentages reflect the decrease in crashes / insurance claims of vehicles equipped with certain ADAS features as compared to vehicles not equipped with such features, as of July 2023). At The Autonomous Main Event, during a discussion on scaling autonomous mobility for widespread adoption, Mobileye CTO Prof. Shai Shalev-Shwartz outlined two main groups of challenges: safety and usefulness. He explained how Mobileye is addressing each one, step by step. Check out a preview of what he discussed:
-
By leveraging cutting-edge camera vision and AI-driven systems, Mobileye is leading the way toward a future where road incidents are drastically reduced, and autonomous driving becomes a reality. Read more here: https://bit.ly/4dXxAQh #PedestrianSafetyMonth #MobileyeSafety

We believe that an end-to-end policy network is a valuable component of our Compound AI system, but we do not think it can, by itself, achieve the MTBF required for autonomous driving. Hear more from Mobileye CTO Shai Shalev-Shwartz at #DrivingAI2024: https://bit.ly/3Uc3phf
-
The idea that unsupervised data alone can enable reaching the sufficient MTBF for autonomous driving is questionable. Hear why and about the AV alignment problem, from Mobileye CEO Prof. Amnon Shashua at #DrivingAI2024: https://bit.ly/4dTb3UC

At the auto motor und sport Congress, Mobileye EVP of AV Johann Jungwirth provided an update on our product portfolio--ranging from ADAS to autonomous driving solutions--and its underlying technologies. He highlighted our key technology pillars, including purpose-built AI, computer vision, REM™ mapping, RSS™-based driving policy, Mobileye Imaging Radar™, and our True Redundancy™ sensing architecture.
