This week, Nicole Baynham and Judy H. are in Monterey at the American Immigration Lawyers Association California Chapters Conference. We look forward to hearing from immigration attorneys and experts Jesse Bless, Farshad Owji, Benjamin Johnson, and Zahra Billoo on the anticipated impact of the recent US election on policy updates, key developments at agencies, and federal litigation. Our team is ready to answer your questions about how we can help immigration attorneys and their clients with our Canadian alternative to the H-1B visa, anticipated restrictions on tech talent in the US, and recent changes to Canada’s immigration strategy, which have prioritized pathways for high-skilled workers. Stop by our booth and say hello!

New findings indicate that immigrants’ skills, ideas, and experience are underutilised in Canada. According to a joint report from Institute for Canadian Citizenship / Institut pour la citoyenneté canadienne (ICC) and Deloitte, newcomers to Canada are facing numerous challenges - from higher rates of unemployment, to an overemphasis on Canadian experience by hiring managers. But the report also found that employers who actively integrate newcomer talent gain a significant competitive advantage in the marketplace. At MobSquad, we know firsthand that both newcomers and established Canadians prosper when highly-skilled immigrants are given the opportunity to thrive. MobSquad just wrapped up ten days at the annual #CalgaryStampede! We want to thank the Calgary community and the 3,000 volunteers whose dedicated work made this year’s Stampede especially memorable. A very special thanks as well to our guests who joined us for one of our favorite annual events! We were excited to sponsor two chuckwagon teams, Ross Knight and his Knight Chuckwagon Team and Darcy Flad. Each chuckwagon featured art commissioned from Indigenous 2024 graduates of the Alberta University of the Arts: Paityn Savoie and Stephanie One Spot. Congratulations to these chuckwagon teams and artists for their accomplishments! Until next year, #CalgaryStampede - and in the meantime #yahoo!

This year, MobSquad Software Developer Duong Do traveled from his home in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to Banff, Alberta. Along the way, he captured some stunning views of the Canadian Rockies! Born and raised in Vietnam, Duong moved to the United States to pursue his degree in Computer Science. Facing work visa issues in the US, Duong needed an alternative: “Fortunately, MobSquad helped me quickly obtain my Canadian work permit, which enabled me to provide software development services to a US company from Canada.” Since arriving in Nova Scotia, Duong has continued to excel in his career as a Software Developer. Last year, MobSquad supported him on his path to Canadian permanent residency. Read Duong’s and other MobSquad success stories here: https://lnkd.in/gaXfSjVa.
