We had a fantastic day at SecureWorld St. Louis 2024! A few takeaways from our day: If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the pace of change in IT, you’re not alone. Things are objectively moving fast, and everyone is feeling the pressure to keep up, even us. The takeaway? We don’t have to (and quite simply can’t) navigate rapid change alone. We can adapt smarter and faster together, so keeping up will now be contingent on building a strong community. Next, cybersecurity isn’t just an IT issue. (Duh, right? But seriously...) Legal, HR, and IT in particular need to collaborate on employee training and vulnerability remediation. Also, if you’re not doing disaster recovery and incident response tabletop planning yet, start. With the rise of AI, state actors, and more and bigger attacks, these practices will likely come in handy sooner than you’d like. It was great to be at an event with others who share our passion for (and obstacles with) keeping people and organizations secure.
