Updates

  • On Wednesday, we welcomed new MP for Burton & Uttoxeter, Jacob Collier to our Burton brewery. During the visit we shared our plans to invest around £80m in Burton over the next five years. A programme of significant investment and infrastructure upgrades includes replacing and relocating our conditioning tanks to our new world class conditioning block, as well as installing an additional filtration stream and upgrading assets in our bottling line to make our brewing process more efficient. These upgrades will play a crucial role in supporting our commitment to reach carbon net zero in its direct (scopes 1 and 2) emissions in the UK by 2035. Neil Haywood our Burton Brewery Operations Director said: “This plan is an important investment in the future of our Burton brewery, which is home to so many of the country’s favourite brands. It means we can meet growing demand for the beers and ciders our consumers love while making strong progress against our sustainability targets. We’re really proud to operate our biggest brewery right here in Burton and we’ve invested significantly in the site over the past decade. This further funding will build on the progress we’ve made and underscores our long-term commitment to the town.” Jacob Collier, MP for Burton and Uttoxeter, added: “Molson Coors is setting a fantastic example in Burton, showing a real willingness to invest in its people, industry, local community and the environment. Burton is the home of British brewing, and this latest investment will help to ensure that it remains so, long into the future. For me, it’s a source of pride that such iconic brands are made right here on our doorstep.”

On Monday, Sharp's turned 30! To mark this milestone, we've shared their celebrations and this week, are championing our people there. Across the 30 year history, Sharp’s has provided jobs and careers for many local people.  Chris Winn is now Sharp’s Racking Leader and he says, “When I started here, it was one small unit and there were six of us working here. We took it in turns to do every job, and over the last 27 years, I’ve pretty much followed that pattern - I’ve been a senior brewer, I’ve done the dray, I’ve driven the forklifts and I’ve been known as the ‘racking guru. Having that history with us, yet continuing to see it grow even now is just amazing for all of us who work here. Ultimately for me, it’s always been about the people here. I get on with everyone here and it’s like hanging out with friends every day. I want to work at Sharp’s until I’m ready to retire. There’s nowhere better."

  • Last week, members of the Molson Coors Veterans Group from our Trenton, Ohio, brewery took part in the Butler County Veterans Appreciation Day. Our team was on site selling Miller Lite, Coors Light, Vizzy Hard Seltzer and Happy Thursday, with proceeds from sales going to support restoration and repair of the Butler County Veterans Monument. Additionally, MCVG presented a $5,700 check to the Butler County Veterans Service Commission to help support its efforts against veteran suicide. Thank you to all the Molson Coors employees in Trenton who contributed to this effort!   #WeAreMolsonCoors

  • It’s that time of year for 21+ fans of Keystone Light to begin the hunt – for blaze-orange cans, that is. Keystone Light is bringing back its popular fall promotion, “The Hunt,” by hiding blaze-orange cans in its fall-themed 15, 24 or 30 packs. If legal drinking-age consumers find one of the brightly colored cans, they can enter for a chance to win prizes from outdoor camouflage company REALTREE, including a grand prize pack with an e-bike, branded binoculars, a firepit and a ground blind. This year, the brand is investing even more in “The Hunt,” hiding four times as many blaze-orange cans in the market, giving drinkers more chances to win. • Our summer intern program concluded earlier this month with our annual Intern Shark Tank, run by our Technology Innovation team. This program included a variety of design-thinking workshops, breakout sessions, team-building activities and networking events. The week culminated with the annual pitch competition, where intern teams propose solutions for a variety of challenges across the business. In addition, more than 20 employees from across the Milwaukee campus volunteered as mentors throughout the week by providing feedback on the interns’ ideas and presentations. Ten intern teams got the opportunity to pitch their solutions in front of a live audience and panel of judges (a.k.a. sharks), which included members of Molson Coors’ executive team. These leaders asked hard-hitting questions and evaluated each group based on the following criteria: Creativity/Originality, Feasibility/Cost, Advantages/Benefits and Pitch/Presentation. The top three teams took home some great prizes, courtesy of Technology Innovation. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all of our interns for a great summer! #WeAreMolsonCoors

  • Wade Malchow is the senior manager of Molson Coors’ industry-leading barley program and has been with the company 25 years. He says his work is as much about the barley as it is the people – the growers, agronomists and elevator staff – who ensure Molson Coors has a reliable supply of high-quality barley to help guarantee consistency in every glass. Malchow oversees a team of 40, including seven agronomists who tend to about 800 barley growers that work more than 200,000 acres in the prime barley country areas of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Idaho. “This is such a dream job for everybody who gets it,” says Malchow, as he sips a Coors Banquet, looking out at fields of the same barley that’s used to brew that beer. “There aren’t many jobs like it in the world.” Read more about Molson Coors’ barley whisperer here: https://bit.ly/3X9niHp

  • For the 10th year in a row, Coors Banquet partnering with the Wildland Firefighter Foundation, which provides relief to the families of injured or killed firefighters, with its Protect Our Protectors initiative. Since the partnership began, Coors Banquet has raised more than $2.5 million for the organization. According to Alyssa Lynner, senior marketing manager for Coors Banquet, the issue is serious for the brand. “Coors was born in wildfire country and every year, wildfires continue to get worse, longer, and more destructive,” says Lynner. “The money raised from Protect Our Protectors goes towards supplies, medical care, mental health support and everything in between to help those who run towards the fire.” Click here to learn more: https://bit.ly/3Aiz21m
