2023 was another record-setting year for fentanyl seizures by Montana law enforcement as well as fentanyl overdose deaths. Attorney General Knudsen and former DEA Agent Rocky Herron spoke to Billings West High School students last week about the horrors that accompany this drug, warning, "it only takes one pill to kill."

Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen recently announced nearly 400,000 dosage units of fentanyl were seized by Montana's anti-drug forces in 2023, a shocking 20,000% increase from 2019. “We’re putting more boots on the ground and giving prosecutors the tools they need to hold perpetrators accountable, but until the southern border is secure the problem will not be solved. Since the new Credentialing and Registration System's rollout, MVD appointment availability has skyrocketed, with many exam stations even taking walk-ins.
