About us

Montgomery County is the third largest county in Pennsylvania. With just under 800,000 people living in its 487 square miles, Montgomery County is home to scores of major employers in pharmaceuticals, banking, manufacturing, healthcare and education. The Montgomery County government and the services it provides to its residents is a reflection of the county itself – large, diversified, sophisticated and efficient. With a $385 million budget and close to 2,400 employees, Montgomery County provides a wide range of services serving social needs, business development, employee training, recreational opportunities, public safety, court services and roads and bridges. The county provides and coordinates social services in innovative and efficient ways through several departments including the Office of Children and Youth, Developmental Disabilities, and Aging and Adult Services. Montgomery County maintains 75 miles of roads and 133 bridges; has developed over 60 miles of multi-use trails throughout the county; and cares for seven county parks and five historic sites. Montgomery County also boasts an award-winning Department of Public Safety, which includes the only internationally accredited emergency dispatch center (911) in Pennsylvania. The dispatch center handles 770,000 calls a year; it handles 1,900 dispatches a day; and, over one million radio transmissions a week. The county government provides many other services to its residents, and the county, itself, is home to a wide range of recreational, cultural and artistic outlets. It is served by an excellent public transportation system and its proximity to Philadelphia adds a great deal more to the quality of life in Montgomery County.

Italian American Heritage Month is celebrated every year to honor and recognize the centuries of achievements, successes, and valuable contributions of Italian immigrants and Italian Americans. Join us as Dr. Giusi Russo, Associate Professor of History at Montgomery County Community College, explores how early Italian migrants faced a myriad of struggles while contributing to building American cities and making the economy work. She will also explore how Italian Americans bonded with marginalized groups to contribute to the creation of the incredibly rich, varied, and unique mosaic that is American culture. The discussion will also center on how Italian-Americans weaved themselves into America’s social and cultural fabric. Do you enjoy the "I Voted" stickers on Election Day? Then you'll love this! Montgomery County has partnered with Fresh Artists, a local nonprofit that showcases the artwork of K–12 public school students, to produce the “Montco Votes” stickers that voters will receive at all 426 Montgomery County voting precincts when polls open on November 5. After casting their ballot in-person on Election Day, voters will receive one of 45 unique sticker designs that were selected among submissions from more than 750 K–12 students from Norristown Area and Pottstown School Districts. With the prompt “My Time to Shine,” students created portraits of themselves as suns, which sit luminous atop the “Montco Votes!” tagline. Read more: https://brnw.ch/21wNGAG

Veterans were invited by Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Jeanne Sorg to the annual county veterans resource fair Tuesday morning - with a special appearance by the new Voter Services Mobile Outreach Van! ✅ We had a team made up of many county offices who showed up to talk about services available to our veterans, including Veterans Services, Voter Services, Public Health and Aging Services! “The Montgomery County Veterans Resource Fair is my favorite event of the year,” said Sorg. “I get the opportunity to bring together government programs and services available to our County veterans, all under one roof – soup to nuts. This is public service, and I cannot be happier to serve Montgomery County.”
