About us

Established in 1885 to professionalize the county’s practice of law, the Montgomery Bar Association (MBA) is one of our nation’s oldest and most respected bar associations, representing over 2,000 legal professionals in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Now, as then, the MBA exists to uphold legal and ethical standards in our legal community. As the 3rd largest Bar in Pennsylvania, the MBA has a longstanding tradition of service to its membership and the community. For members, the MBA offers an important arena for networking, professional development and education. For the community, the MBA serves as a legal resource offering education, legal assistance and funds and resources for agencies in need. The Association is actively engaged in public service through community outreach, free educational events offered throughout the year, programs like the Liberty and Law Civics Education Project, the Mock Trial Competitions for high-school students, the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project and more. • Today, members from our Bench & Bar accounted for another standing room only luncheon program in our CLE Room, with overflow seating spilling into our Library -- this time for a panel discussion on the newly-implemented Kayden's Law. Judge Clifford and Judge Ronca explained the substantive language of the the Act and how it impacts custody cases. As usual, Section Chair Elizabeth Early, Esq. did an exceptional job as Moderator, and several other notables were in attendance from our Family Courts. Big thanks to Soberlink (Family Law Section's Bronze Level Partners) for sponsoring today's luncheon and CLE program. #kaydenslaw #custody #familylaw #soberlink #sobriety #addictionrecovery #recoverysolutions

  • The Norristown Hospitality Center was created from true and simple love for people. It is a home during the day for anyone who otherwise would be left hungry, weary or living on the streets. The Hospitality Center is a low-barrier day shelter that provides free services to anyone in need. This afternoon, members of our Young Lawyers Section and Board of Directors teamed up and put together dozens of freshly bagged lunches that will be given out to clients of the Norristown Hospitality Center. Kudos to all of you who assisted as our busy May Month of Service rolls on!
